A man and a woman were arrested Tuesday in the deadly shooting of their roommate whose body was found in the bed of his truck over the weekend in Emerson.
Ms. Tammy Lynn Murphy, 50 and Mr. Steven Mark Eller, 45, both of Cartersville, were charged with murder in the death of Mr. Danny Lamar Gravely, 47, according to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office.
Bartow County deputies were assisting Emerson police officers and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation when they found Mr. Gravely Sunday morning in the bed of his truck on Red Top Mountain Road, Sheriff Clark Millsap said.
They began searching for the crime scene.
Late Monday, investigators learned that Mr. Gravely had died from a single gunshot wound to his head, Sheriff Millsap said.
“It was also discovered that Gravely had been last seen at his residence on Dogwood Place in Bartow County on Saturday night,” the sheriff said.
Through a search of the property, investigators found evidence that Mr. Gravely had been murdered at his home.
“It is believed that an argument at the residence, where the three resided, led to the shooting,” Sheriff Millsap said.
It’s unclear what the three were arguing about and investigators did not say which of the two is suspected of firing the fatal shot.
Ms. Murphy and Mr. Eller were also charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, tampering with evidence, and concealing the death of a person, Sheriff Millsap said.
Both remained in the Bartow County jail Wednesday without bond.
