Police are searching for a man who exposed himself to a woman while she was jogging Thursday night in Athens.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on Hill Street near the intersection of Franklin Street, according to Athens-Clarke County police.

The woman told police she was jogging on Hill Street when a black, four-door vehicle stopped on Franklin Street, directly in her path, police spokeswoman Ms. Hilda Sorrow said.

“The driver called out to her to get her attention,” Ms. Sorrow said. “He raised his body up while still in the driver’s seat so she could see him. She then realized he was exposing himself.”

The woman continued her run and after confirming the man had not followed her, she went home and called police, she said.

The suspect was described as a dark-skinned black man with a possible accent, police said. The woman told police she believes the man may have been African, Ms. Sorrow said. The vehicle may have had some silver trim on the doors, the woman said.
