He has eaten Beer Can Chicken in Oklahoma City, White Chocolate and Sweet Pea Creme Brulee in Brooklyn, and Banana-Leaf-Wrapped Chicken in San Jose.  He has braved a 13-pound pizza in Atlanta, the Sasquatch Burger in Memphis, and the Atomic Hot Wings platter in Pittsburgh. This season he will attempt to conquer a 7-pound seafood platter, a giant grilled cheese sandwich, and 50 hot wings in 30 minutes.

Now Adam Richman of the Travel Channel's show Man v. Food will face the challenges of Des Moines in prime time.  Richman recently visited Des Moines to film footage for upcoming shows.  Richman was seen in the Highlife Lounge, Jethro's BBQ, and Black Market Pizza over the last 10 days.  Richman dined on broasted chicken and the signature Bacon-Wrapped Tator Tots at Highlife.  While it is unknown what Richman ate at the other two stops, it is assumed that he might attempt the Adam Emmenecker Sandwich at Jethro's.  The BBQ joint's Drake star-themed sandwich features a burger, a tenderloin, bacon, brisket, fried cheese, buffalo chicken tenders, and more, piled high on a normal-sized bun.  The crew filming at High Life stated that a trip to the Iowa State Fair was also a possibility.

Man v. Food's visit to Des Moines is scheduled to air on October 6th.

Wow I wonder if the challenges he goes to is really amped up or it is just hyped.

The question is, was Des Moines reader for the challenge of Man v. Food's Adam Rich, or was he prepared for the culinary goodness of Bacon-Wrapped Tater Tots?

I think any food challenge where they only go 15 minutes is not serious. Fifteen minutes for something like the Adam Emmenecker is in the territory of professional eating contestants. I doubt if I could eat such a monster in 45, but setting the limit at 15 is just chicken-hearted. Give the ordinary person at least a fighting chance for a bit of glory.
