Man texting on train tracks killed by oncoming train

A 20-year-old man was texting on train tracks in Pennsylvania when an oncoming train struck and killed him. According to a video report by GeoBeats, the man, identified as Andre Washington, was walking the tracks around 4:30 p.m. while texting on his cell phone. The oncoming train's conductor saw Washington and began blowing the horn to warn him, but Washington didn't move from the tracks and the train couldn't stop in time despite locking its brakes.

It is unknown why Washington didn't hear the train but he may have been wearing headphones that prohibited him from hearing any noise aside from his music. The train's conductor said that Washington didn't even turn around and it appeared as though he had no clue the train was about to hit him.

The 500 passengers on board the train were taken away from the scene by shuttle. Emergency personnel pronounced Washington dead at the scene. Check out the video above for more.
