A man in Florida is accused of stabbing his pregnant family member over 30 times. Why did he do this?
Samuel Roy Cone II, 59, stabbed his relative because there was a disagreement about how another “family member’s estate will be divided.”
After the stabbing, Jill Feingold, 40, was rushed to a central Florida hospital for surgery. She and her unborn baby were “listed in critical condition on Tuesday," according to the Huffington Post.
Feingold is 22 weeks pregnant.
Cone was taken into police custody when he “walked towards arriving officers with his hands raised and wearing clothing that was splattered with blood, the Ocala Star-Banner reported.”
When police entered the home, they also discovered a steak knife that they suspect Cone used to stab the pregnant woman.
Cone said he is sorry for his crime, but explained he snapped because “They took all [he] had,” according to Orlando’s News 13.
Police have charged Cone with attempted murder. They also explained that this family had been feuding constantly about who would “inherit [Cone’s] mother’s estate” before this incident.
The Marion County Sheriff's office even revealed that Cone had been arrested many times for assault, battery, and probation violations since 2000.
