The phrase, “man slaps crying baby” has become a trending topic on several search engines this morning after the Christian Post reported this Saturday, Feb. 16, that a white man on a Delta Air flight recently slapped a crying black baby on the plane. What’s worse, say reports, is that the man said, “Shut that [n-word] baby up!” sparking a controversy over racism in the case as well. The accused man denies that he is a racist.
The baby’s mother told police officials about the attack, saying that the man’s slap was hard enough to make a scratch under the crying baby’s right eye.
The attack sparked controversy on the plane, as even those on board the Delta Air flight who didn’t see the man slap the baby boy heard him shout, “Shut that [n-word] baby up!”
The slap only made the child scream louder, added passengers. The 60-year-old accused white man was later found by police to be intoxicated, and was arrested on assault charges for slapping the black boy. Regardless of race, however, "a man slaps crying baby" is distressing to hear in the first place.
The man's attorney however, has asked the public not to make judgments yet.
