A man was shot to death and a female bystander critically injured during an ambush outside a DeKalb County sports bar early Sunday morning.

So far, no arrests have been made in the double shooting but investigators said they are working on some promising leads.

The double shooting happened around 3:15 a.m. outside Scores All-Star Sports Bar & Video Lounge at 2425 Wesley Chapel Road, according to DeKalb County police.

Investigators said an altercation had broken out among several people inside the bar when security asked them to leave.

One party left and then the other followed, police spokesman Capt. Stephen Fore said.

“The other party they were involved in the altercation with opened fire,” Capt. Fore said. The first victim, a 25-year-old man who was involved in the altercation, died at the scene.

The second victim, a 22-year-old woman bystander, survived but was in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital Monday, Capt. Fore said.

He declined to confirm the identity of the man who died pending notification of the victim’s family.

The DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office did not immediately respond to an inquiry about the victim's identity.
