A man was shot to death Sunday afternoon at a home in southeast Atlanta – and police believe the killer may have fought with the man before shooting him in the stomach.
Still, so far they have not identified any suspect or a motive for the murder. And the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the man’s identity.
The investigation began shortly before 3:20 p.m. when officers responded to 437 Lindsey Drive after getting a 911 cal about a person shot, according to Atlanta police. Officers did not say who made that call.
When the officers arrived, they found the man unresponsive on the bedroom floor being medically examined by Atlanta firefighters, police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said.
“The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was in a physical altercation,” Officer Jones said. “Several gun shots were heard by nearby witnesses and the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.”
It’s unclear if the man lived alone and police have not said if there were any witnesses to the shooting.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at (404) 577-8477.
