A man who was gunned down on a northwest Atlanta street was identified Friday. But police are still trying to find out who killed the man and why.
Mr. Damon Brittian, 33, of Atlanta died Thursday morning after being shot multiple times, officials said.
Investigators believe he was the intended target.
Officers were patrolling in the area when they heard multiple shots fired around Cameron M. Alexander Boulevard near Paines Avenue about 5 a.m., homicide Commander Lt. Paul Guerrucci said.
When they responded to the location they found the man’s body off the street but next to the roadway, Lt. Guerrucci said.
“We believe he was the intended target. We haven’t established a motive, but we believe he was the target because multiple shots were fired.
Also, “witnesses said they heard people arguing and then shots fired,” Lt. Guerrucci said.
