A man was shot in the leg after he allegedly attempted to run down a officer in a stolen car Monday night in Sandy Springs.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. in the area of 5600 Roswell Road, according to Sandy Springs police.
The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was allegedly driving a stolen car when officers attempted to stop him, police spokesman Capt. Steve Rose said.
“Crime Suppression team members attempted to arrest the suspect in a stolen car when he fled, striking at least two police vehicles and almost striking an officer,” Capt. Rose said. “The officer fired his weapon at the oncoming car.”
A man later determined to be the suspect arrived at St. Joseph Hospital for treatment for a gunshot wound to his leg, police said. The man’s injuries were not life-threatening and he was taken into custody, Capt. Rose said.
Police have not released the charges that the man faces in the incident.
