Man shoots estranged wife, then himself, at daughter’s birthday party

A father in Texas, Kelly Suckla, 43, went to his daughter’s sixteenth birthday and shot his estranged wife, Kristi, 44. Then Suckla walked onto Kristi’s parents’ front yard and shot himself.

WFAA reported that this father started arguing with Kristi in Grapevine, outside of Dallas, during a birthday party for their daughter.

The daughter, her 21-year-old brother, and her grandparents were inside the house when Suckla murdered Kristi and committed suicide. Fortunately, the daughter, brother, and in-laws were not injured.

"It's a quiet neighborhood, a family neighborhood. We're just speechless," neighbor Ruth Cramer explained to WFAA.

No one knows what Kristi and Kelly were arguing about, and they are no longer alive to reveal that information.

Neighbors said the children were “staying at her parent's house for a few weeks.” Another neighbor told NBC that the Sucklas were “good people.”

What would cause this father to show up at his daughter’s birthday party to kill himself and his estranged wife on Saturday? If Kelly was trying to traumatize his family, it is sad to say that he has done just that.
