On August 28, Kyle Kushen, 19, was sentenced to six months in jail after admitting that he killed his roommate’s dog.
Kushen’s roommate called Lakewood police after returning home to find her miniature pinscher, Princess, was dead. Kushen told her the dog had been hit by a car, however she did not believe his story.
Kushen was charged with cruelty to animals on August 23 after admitting that he threw the dog against a door and killed her. The Plain Dealer reports that Kushen told police he had been playing video games, and on his way downstairs to get a drink, he said he stepped in dog feces on the landing and then stepped in dog urine in the kitchen.
Already irritated, Kushen said he was “agitated even further when there were no clean glasses.”
So, he told police, he then picked up the dog and threw her against the front door, killing her.
