Man in Saratoga Springs, Utah died at an IHC Clinic, and hazmat teams shut down the clinic and nearby neighborhood. At 1:30 pm, a man died on the way to an IHC Clinic in Saratoga Springs, Utah Tuesday and was pronounced dead at the clinic. Shortly afterwards a hazmat team showed up and closed down the clinic. The hazmat team is from the National Guard, which doesn't normally respond to these type of situations, according to a live report from Fox 13.
The man was having a very difficult time breathing and his condition deteriorated very quickly after calling 911. The man revealed the type of chemical he came in contact with, but that information has not been released to the public. Other family members have been exposed to the chemical. The clinic has contacted the man’s employer who said that they don’t use any deadly chemicals at their plant. The name of the man has not been released.
The road that leads to the man’s nearby house in Saratoga Springs was also shut down by another hazmat team, according to a live report from KUTV. Goldenrod Way in Saratoga Springs, the road that leads to the IHC Clinic has also been shut down.
The hazmat teams arrived in protective gear to the area around the home, near 130 West and Daybreak Lane.
Saratoga Springs police surrounded the home with tape and asked everyone in the area to stay away from it. Other homes in the area were not evacuated, and the hazmat teams are not talking about what might have happened. A police press conference is expected sometime Tuesday night.
