Academy Award-winning actress Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey of "300: Rise of an Empire" and "The Wolverine" actress Tao Okamoto are the latest actors to join "Man of Steel 2." The film is scheduled to be released in 2016.

Movie sequels often disappoint, but if the casting for "Man of Steel 2" is any indication, this sequel looks very promising.
In a statement Director Zack Snyder told the Digital Trends report he was thrilled to sign on Holly Hunter: "She has immense talent and is always captivating on screen. I had an opportunity to meet her a while back and knew instantly that I had to work with her, so as we began writing the script I made sure to create a role specifically for her."
Hunter, 56, has been around a while. The actress starred in the 1993 film "The Piano." That role garnered her a “Best Actress” Academy Award. She is also known for her work in "Broadcast News," "The Firm" and "Thirteen." Those roles got Hunter three more Oscar nominations.
Ace Showbiz report notes that actor Callan Mulvey worked with director Zack Snyder in the recently released "300: Rise of an Empire." The director said he was very eager to work with Mulvey again.
Tao Okamoto, debut as Mariko in "The Wolverine," Zack Snyder and the director said he was excited to work with the 28-year-old Japanese actress.
Snyder said Tao Okamoto ai an actress who has a striking presence and whose beauty is fittingly rivaled with her astonishing acting abilities. But the character she will play has not been revealed.
The newly named actors for "Man of Steel 2" will join British actor Henry Cavill who portrays Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as villain Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as the loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth. The "Man of Steel 2" movie is also known as the "Batman vs. Superman" film.
If you want to see the film, you will have to wait another two years when it debuts in the spring of 2016.
