A man was shot multiple times in a Lanham apartment parking lot last night and has succumbed to his injuries. Police are trying to determine who killed him and why.
Friday, August 1, around 11:15 p.m., police say patrol officers were summoned to the 8600 block of Greenbelt Road in an apartment parking lot for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, police say they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries several hours later.
Police have not yet released his name.
Preliminarily, police say this does not appear to have been a random shooting.
Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify the suspect(s) in this case.
