Adelphi, Md. --- A man was murdered outside an Adelphi apartment complex during a carjacking Friday evening and police are looking for the suspects.
A police spokesperson says the killing happened in the rear of the apartment complex at 9410 Adelphi Road around 8:33 p.m.
That is where officers found an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The three suspects fled after carjacking and crashing the victim's Honda Odyssey minivan in the same apartment complex.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police later identified him as 38-year-old Carlos Fernandez-Ramirez of the 9600 block of Cottrell Terrace in Silver Spring.
Homicide detectives are currently working to identify the suspects and establish a motive in this incident.
