Adelphi, Md. --- Police in Prince George's County are investigating a murder that was reported around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Cpl. Henry Tippett says officers were summoned to the Heritage Park Apartments in the 1800 block of Metzerott Road. That is where they discovered an adult male shot in the head in critical condition. He was found unresponsive face down in the parking lot. EMS personnel took him to the hospital in cardiac arrest where he was pronounced dead.
Police later identifed the victim as 40-year-old Joel Craig Brown of the 1100 block of University Boulevard in Silver Spring.
According to one source, Brown's vehicle was taken during the incident.
Another man was murdered during a carjacking on Nov. 26 at an apartment complex on Adelphi Road less than a half mile from this killing.
Homicide detectives are currently working to identify the suspects and establish a motive in this case.
