A Florida man has been arrested for leaving a four-month old baby girl locked in a car which police found in a Fort Myers strip club parking lot. According to NBC News on Dec. 7, Andrew Sosa, 21 left the infant in a Kia Optima while he was inside Lookers strip club.
Sosa was arrested for child neglect. When police were flagged down because witnesses spotted the baby in the vehicle shortly past 10:30 Friday night, an attempt was made to locate the owner of the vehicle. When he couldn’t be found, police smashed a window in order to get to the child.
The baby, a girl, was sweating and covered in vomit. She was transported to a children’s hospital nearby and treated for a mild case of dehydration. She is expected to make a full recovery.
Following the arrest, police learned Sosa had left the child in the vehicle for 3 hours. The Cape Coral man appeared in court on Saturday and received a bond set at $100,000. The Department of Children and Families is now involved in the case.
