Man kills TV host, beats wife, kills self in brutal crime

A man kills a TV host before beating his wife and then killing himself on Mar. 7, 2013 according to a recent report by Yahoo! News. The victim was Gregory G. Rodriguez, 43. He was a married father-of-two and the host of the Sportsman Channel show "A Rifleman's Journal."

Wayne Bengston, 41, arrived at his mother-in-law's home in northwestern Montana on Thursday to find Rodriguez visiting with his wife as the pair sipped wine at the kitchen table. Bengston shot the other man to death before beating up his own wife, presumably with the same pistol with which the man killed the TV host. Bengston's wife was treated at a local hospital and released.

Bengston reportedly removed their two-year-old son from the crime scene and dropped him off at the home of a family member before driving to his own home 25 miles away and killing himself.

When a man kills a TV host, there is sure to be speculation about the motive. Officials are speculating that the tragic incident was the result of a jealous rage. However, there is no indication that the victim and the shooter's wife were involved in anything but a platonic friendship.
