A 21-year old man was killed in a fight at a home in Deltona early Saturday morning, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. The name of the victim is not being released until relatives have been notified, according to Volusia County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Gary Davidson. The Sheriff’s Office says witnesses reported that a “…large fight broke out…” during a gathering inside the home at 2947 Foxboro Circle (corrected) around 4 Saturday morning, and then the fight “…spilled out onto the driveway.” Davidson says deputies were on the scene four minutes after the call to 911, and found the victim on his back in the driveway, bleeding from a stab wound in the torso area. The Sheriff’s Office says the victim was breathing when deputies arrived, but “…stopped breathing as paramedics were working on him at the scene.” The man was then transported by ambulance to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City, where he was pronounced dead at 5:03 a.m.

Two others injured

Davidson says two other people were injured in the fight, one suffering a broken leg and the other a shoulder injury. Investigators with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office say early reports indicate as many as a dozen people or more may have been involved in the fight. The investigation is being handled by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Major Case Unit. No arrests have been reported as of early Saturday afternoon.
