Man killed, 2 others injured in triple shooting in Congress Heights Neighborhood

Washington, D.C. --- Police say three men were shot early Sunday in Congress Heights, and one of them has died.

Just before 12:30 a.m., police say officers from the 7th District responded to the 4200 block of 6th Street SE for a person reported shot. Officers arriving found three men who had been shot.

One of the victims, later identified as 20-year-old Delano Phillips of Southeast, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police have not speculated on a suspect or motive.

The Metropolitan Police Department offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department's TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.
