An investigation in Lancaster is underway after an early Friday morning shooting. A male victim, who gave the male suspect in question a ride, was shot in the back.
WBTV reports the incident was reported around two in the morning on Friday to the Lancaster Police Department.
The victim reported he was flagged down by the suspect who also had two women along with him. The victim was asked for a lift to the gas station for gas.
According to the victim, they left the store, and then robbed at gunpoint. He was instructed by the suspect to ride a round and empty his pockets. Their final destination was to some apartment buildings near Chesterfield Avenue.
Once in the parking lot, the driver tried to escape and was shot. The victim was taken to Springs Memorial Hospital, and then airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The victim’s identity has not been released but is expected to be okay. The crime is still under investigation.
