Man indicted for 2012 beating death at Jackson pool hall

A man was indicted Monday in connection with the 2012 beating death of a Jackson man inside a Jackson pool hall, according to a news release from the Jackson Police Department.

Travis Holliday, 33, of Jackson, was indicted Monday by the Madison County grand jury for second-degree murder in the beating death of Kenneth Brasher, 45, of Jackson.

Holliday remains in custody at the Madison County Jail on a $250,000 bond. He is scheduled to be formally arraigned on March 11 in Madison County Circuit Court.

The release said that on June 17, around 12:30 a.m., Jackson police were called about an assault at Breaker's Billiards, located at 701 S. Royal Street.

Brasher was found on the floor inside the business and the investigation showed that he was struck in the head with a bar stool following an altercation.

Brasher was transported by ambulance to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Holliday was developed as a suspect, the release said and he surrendered around 5 p.m. that same day.
