A man impersonating a taxi driver attempted to sexually assault a woman he picked up at a club in northeast Atlanta. On Friday, police released a sketch of the suspect, hoping that someone will be able to help identify him.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. on Dec. 14 in the area of 3188 Roswell Road, according to Atlanta police.
A man in his early 30s, driving a black sedan, picked up the 23-year-old woman as she was walking from the club area that Saturday morning, police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said.
The man pretended to be a taxi driver, she said.
“The suspect attempted to assault her,” Officer Jones said. “The victim was able to flee.”
Police have not said if the woman suffered any injuries while attempting to escape.
Crime Stoppers Atlanta is offering up to a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment of the suspect.
