A man was shot to death and his body found early Tuesday morning on a pedestrian bridge near downtown.
But so far, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said they have not yet been able to identify the man who police said appears to be in his 20s.
And it’s unclear if he was killed in the area or dumped there after being shot.
A passerby discovered the victim around 4 a.m. on Elliott Street in the Castleberry Hill neighborhood of southwest Atlanta, according to Atlanta police.
“Apparently, the victim was found in an isolated area by someone walking through a "cut,” police spokesman Sgt Greg Lyon said.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the man dead of “what appeared to be at least two gunshot wounds,” Atlanta police Capt. Paul Guerrucci told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
At least one of the shots was to the head, he said.
So far, police have no motive or suspect for the shooting.
Detectives canvassed the neighborhood looking for witnesses Tuesday as well as checked for surveillance cameras.
