A man was found shot to death late Monday night inside his northwest Atlanta home. And police said they are still trying to determine what happened.
So far, police have not released the man’s name.
It’s unclear when the shooting happened, but a friend of the victim reportedly found the man shortly before midnight and called 911, according to Atlanta police.
The friend had gone to the home to visit, but when no one came to the door the friend looked in a window and saw the victim on a sofa in his living room, bleeding, according to media reports.
When officers arrived, he was already dead, police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said.
“It appears the victim suffered a gunshot wound,” Officer Jones said. “There were no witnesses on scene nor do we have any suspects at this time.”
Investigators said the man, who was in his mid 20s, appeared to have died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
It's unclear if there was any signs of forced entry and police have not released any details about the condition of the home or the body.
