A 25-year-old man has been arrested after stealing an ambulance and driving erratically down the highway -- with a patient still inside! On Sept. 30, it was reported that the Florida man was arrested in Philadelphia, Penn. He was carrying a firearm and threatened the EMT's which is why they got out of the ambulance which was moving slowly through traffic. This occurred at 3 p.m. on a Friday.
"It was pretty scary. He was weaving in and out of traffic on a blowout tire riding on that rim. I thought he was going to flip over," said a witness. The vehicle ended up coming to a halt and the suspect fled the scene on foot. Police caught up to him and promptly placed him under arrest.
The suspect, Brian Timothy Kada Jr., was charged with robbery of a motor vehicle, assault, and kidnapping. The patient was transported to the hospital by a second ambulance that arrived on the scene. No other injuries were reported.
