A man believed to be about 60 years old was found shot to death in a bullet-riddled vehicle Friday morning at a park in northwest Atlanta.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said they have identified the man but are withholding his name until his next of kin is notified.

Around 9 a.m., officers responded to a call of a person down at 3691 Collier Drive near Collier Park, according to Atlanta police. When officers arrived, they found a man about 60 years old dead from a gunshot wound inside a red Jeep Cherokee, police said.

Investigators said the man was inside the vehicle in a parking lot of the recreation center adjacent to Collier Park when multiple shots were fired. So far, police don’t have a suspect or a motive for the shooting. At least five bullet holes could be seen in the front passenger-side door of the older-model Jeep Cherokee, and there was another bullet hole in the driver’s door of the vehicle, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Lt. Charles Hampton said detectives had collected evidence, including multiple shell casings that suggest the shots were fired from outside the vehicle, the paper reported.

Jennifer Murray told the paper that she brings her 3-year-old son to the park almost daily.

“It was shocking,” Murray said. “This is a park where lots of kids come to play. It’s very disturbing.”

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-8477.

Three Men Caught Masturbating at Park

Three men from two different cities and who vary in age were arrested after they were allegedly caught performing a sex act together in a park Thursday morning in Athens.

Dennis L. Porter, 67, of Brentwood Trail in Winterville, Antonio Julian Robbins, 19, of Hargrove Lake Road in Colbert, and Joshua Thomas Brewer, 25, of Pebblestone Drive in Watkinsville, were charged with indecent exposure, according to the Athens-Clarke County police.

Around 11 a.m. officers responded to the complex on Mitchell Bridge Road near Ben Burton Park after getting a report about suspicious males hanging out behind the complex, police spokeswoman Hilda Sorrow said. The first officer who arrived at the complex saw two men walking on a trail that leads to the park, Sorrow said. As the officer entered the wood line, he saw a third man with them, Sorrow said.

As he approached, he saw one man groping the crotch of one of the other men, Sorrow said. As he walked closer to them, he saw all three men masturbating, she said.

All three were transported to the Clarke County jail where they were released almost two hours later after each posted $1,000 bond, according to booking records.
