Officers conducting a welfare check uncovered a murder at a mobile home park in Austell, and now they are trying to discover the circumstances behind the man's death and why he was killed.
They found Mr. Joseph Walker Jones, 48, dead inside his home at the Village at Six Flags Road Mobile Home Park at 508 Fox Road, Cobb County police said Friday.
The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office is trying to determine how the man died while police investigate who wanted him dead.
Still, police are treating the man’s death as an “apparent homicide,” police spokesman Officer Mike Bowman said.
It’s unclear how long the man has been dead and police have not said who requested the welfare check. It’s unclear how the suspect entered the home and whether there were any forced entry or signs of a struggle.
Anyone with information which may assist detectives in this case is asked to call Cobb county police at (770) 499-3945.
