On March 31, 2013, a man drove his car into a San Jose, Calif. Walmart and was witnessed attacking customers with a steel bar, according to KTVU.
The incident took place at about 11:15 a.m. on Easter Sunday.
Police received reports a vehicle had rammed into the store, San Jose Police Dept. Ofc. Albert Morales told KTVU.
He noted that after the car made it about 30 feet into the store and came to a stop, the driver exited the vehicle and began attacking customers.
KTVU reports that one witness, @LizziAnaG, tweeted during the chaos, “Omg dude drove into @Walmart at #storyRd and ran people over and was hitting people with a steel bar… It was really scary and I feel sad for all the children/people that witnessed it.”
The man was arrested and booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
According to KTVU, one person out of the nine reportedly injured has been taken to a local hospital for treatment.
