Man charged with slaying officer plead not guilty

Joshua Martin, 21, who has been charged with aiding and abetting second-degree intentional murder on May 1, 2010, has plead not guilty to the charges. Martin was also charged with kidnapping in regards to his role in a carjacking. No trial date has been set yet.




Maplewood Police officer, Joseph Bergeron, was shot and killed after responding to a complaint of a carjacking on May 1, 2010. The officer was shot in the head while seated in his squad car and seatbelt buckled. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
