A man identified as Cleottus Harvey, 26, of Las Vegas was shot to death on Tuesday January 21st around 5:20 p.m. as he was stopped at a stop light on Tropicana Avenue at Rainbow Boulevard, which is a busy intersection. Harvey had his two children in the back seat of the car when he was shot to death. Cleottus Harvey was driving a Buick which was stopped at the red light when an unidentified white male who was driving a dark colored sedan pulled up next to Harvey and fired multiple rounds into the Buick. Harvey then lost control of his car and crashed into a Volkswagen Jetta and a Toyota Camry.

Witnesses said the driver of the dark color sedan was speeding and driving recklessly as he pulled up next to Harvey’s car and argued with him briefly before pulling out a gun and firing at Harvey multiple times. Harvey had his two children with him at the time of the tragedy. The children, ages 2 and 3 miraculously were unharmed after the shots were fired and after the Buick crashed into two other cars.

Police arrived on the scene finding the Buick wrecked into the other cars with multiple bullet holes in the car. Police said they are not sure if the incident was a result of road rage or if it was part of a prior incident involving the suspect. Witnesses said after the man in the dark color sedan fired the shots he continued driving west on Tropicana Avenue. Harvey was rushed to University Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries.
