A man broke into an elderly woman’s apartment and raped her last week in Dalton and police on Saturday were still searching for the suspect.
So far they have not been able to identify the man who appeared to be about 30 years old.
The incident happened about 10:30 a.m. Thursday at a home on Vann Circle, according to Dalton police.
Investigators said the man forced his way into the elderly woman’s apartment and sexually assaulted her. They did not release any details on how the man got into the apartment nor did they release the victim’s age.
The suspect is described as a slender, 5-foot, 8-inch tall white man. He was wearing a baseball ball cap with some type of emblem on the front, a leather type jacket and jeans, police said..
“The suspect was seen leaving in an older model white Jeep Cherokee, driving east on Vann Circle,” police spokesman Mr. Bruce Frazier said. “The elderly female was not injured but was transported to Hamilton Medical Center for evaluation.”
