With every purchase comes a risk. Is a shirt going to be too small, is this car going to die as soon as I drive off the lot? Is my ticket I just bought off a random Facebook user to a WWE live event real or fake? For a few people in Corpus Christi, they got a bad answer to that last question this past weekend.
A man has been arrested in Corpus Christi after selling fake tickets to Sunday's WWE live event. there. A 22-year old female called police on Sunday evening to report that she had bought tickets to the event that was held at the American Bank Center that night. Unfortuantely when she got to the venue, the tickets turned out to be fake.
The woman told police she discovered the tickets were forged, and went back to the man's Facebook page where she had been in contact about them. There, she found he was about to sell another ticket to somebody else and they were about to meet at a restaurant.
Officers went to the restaurant and confronted a 33-year old man, who was about to make another transaction with a 23-year old female. It was then revealed that he had been selling several copies of the tickets to the exact same seats to several other people.
The man was arrested and charged with fraud, a misdemeanor offense.
