ALEXANDRIA, LA Tuesday, February 25, 2014- At 6:40 a.m on Feb. 25, 2014 Pineville Fire Department, Acadian Ambulance and Pineville Police Department responded to a crash on the 3900 block of LA 28 East involving a Rapides Parish School Bus.

Pineville Police Department disclosed that, "the preliminary investigation indicates that a Rapides Parish School Bus was stopped with the red indicator lights activated and stops signs extended at Pinetrace Apartment Complex with children loading."

Anthony Phillips was driving his Ford F-150 and "failed to stop and crashed into the rear of the school bus. Eight children were transported by Ambulance to local Hospitals with minor injuries", according to police on the scene.

While investigating the incident it was discovered that Anthony Phillips, 31, of Pineville was in possession of a stolen firearm.

Pineville P.D. confirmed that Phillips has been arrested on charges of Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms and Reckless Operation of a Vehicle.

Eight children were trans[ported to local hospitals for minor to moderate injuries.
