Czerkawski is the alleged abuser of the sadistically tortured, young pit bull who had to be euthanized because of her horrific injuries; he is also a suspected thief.
According to New Bedford Police, the incarcerated man may be responsible for stealing over $6,000 from the St. Lawrence Church back in 2012.
Czerkawski stayed at the church for several months in early 2012; he was hoping to become a pastor.
Later the same year, not long after he advised the church that he was moving to Canada, several unauthorized transactions took place.
According to officials, Czerkawski's name was utilized to cash multiple checks which had been stolen from the rectory.
According to NBC Connecticut, Czerkawski was arraigned in Massachusetts on Tuesday; his bond has been set at $500,000.
The alleged abuser has been charged as a fugitive from justice, and is also facing 11 counts of cruelty to animals for the Puppy Doe case.
