A Westbury man has been arrested after police say he burglarized a neighborhood restaurant twice the same night and made off with a few bottles of booze.

Frank Alfisi, 46, is awaiting arraignment Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead on charges of third-degree burglary and third-degree attempted burglary.

Police say the manager of Chi, a restaurant on Post Avenue in Westbury, was closing the store on April 1 when he heard a noise coming from the ladies’ restroom and went to check it out.

When he walked into the bathroom, he allegedly spotted a man climbing in the window. The manager tried to grab the suspect – who police identified as Alfisi – but he was able to pull away and run from the scene, according to a news release.

The next day, the manager learned “the same subject had broken into the restaurant” and had allegedly taken several bottles of alcohol, investigators said. They said the man was captured on the restaurant’s surveillance video breaking in around 1 a.m.

Alfisi was arrested Wednesday when he was spotted walking near the restaurant.
