A 50-year-old man was shot multiple times and left to die on the breezeway of an extended stay motel in Gwinnett County Saturday.
So far, police said they don’t have a suspect or a motive for the man’s murder.
The shooting happened on the second floor of InTown Suites at 4142 Hwy. 78 near Snellville, according to Gwinnett County police.
“Officers arrived on scene and located Mr. Vincent Newsome on the second floor breezeway suffering from multiple gun shots wounds,” police spokesman Sgt. Brian Doan said in a news release.
Witnesses told investigators Mr. Newsome was outside in the parking lot washing his vehicle when for some unknown reason he then went upstairs, Sgt. Doan said.
“(He) was on his way back to the parking lot when he was confronted by the suspect on the second floor breezeway,” Sgt. Doan said. “Multiple shots were fired.”
Police have not released a description of the suspect. It’s unclear how long Mr. Newsome has been staying at the motel, but police said he was a resident.
