Opinion by Jake Jones:
I respect cops, yet I have some distrust and resentment of some cops and/or their respective police departments, over their abuse of power and their heavy handed tactics. There is NO excuse for their actions in this case, because the stolen item was a Cell Phone!
The website newyork.cbslocal.com says that this NY man was in bed at 5AM when cops burst into his apartment without warrant on the word of one person, the young female who's Cell Phone was stolen. She said to the cops, "that is where he went".
The place "where he went" was an apartment complex at a building at 379 Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn, NY. Carlos Alcis, 43, is dead because of a Cell Phone and the overly heavy handed actions by the 10 police officers who invaded his private space without warrant.
Emmanuel Alcis, the mans 15-year-old son was the original suspect in the Cell Phone theft, but later Friday night, the police announced that they have arrested a 16 year old for the theft.
Yes, this police department should be very proud of themselves. It only took 10 cops to kill an innocent man and retrieve a stolen Cell Phone.
