A 36-year-old Kennesaw man died after crashing into a guardrail in the median of a Marietta road early Monday morning.

The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on Piedmont Road at Piedmont Enclave Court, according to Cobb County police.

Investigators said Mr. Victor Kibogong was driving a silver 2004 Kia Optima west on Piedmont Road when he lost control and struck the guardrail in the median.

“The automobile was then redirected back across the westbound lanes where it impacted a tree on the northern shoulder of the road,” police spokesman Mr. Mike Bowman said.

Mr. Kibogong died at the scene. There was no report of any other injuries in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Police are still trying to determine why Mr. Kibogong lost control and crashed. It’s unclear if there were any witnesses to the crash.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Cobb County police at (770) 499-3987.
