An argument between two men escalated into gunfire, leaving one dead and the other on the run Thursday afternoon in southeast Atlanta.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as Mr. Antonio Biggs, 35, of Atlanta. But police have yet to identify the suspect.

And so far, they have not determined the motive for the deadly shooting.

Around 2:30 p.m., officers responded to 46 Armstrong St. after getting a report of a person shot at the location, according to Atlanta police.

“Upon arrival officers found a male in his mid-thirties who had been shot at least two times,” police spokesman Officer John Chafee said.

The man was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he died.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting may have started as a verbal altercation that escalated to gunfire and investigators believe that there is possibly some type of association between the victim and suspect,” Officer Chafee said.

Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at (404) 577-8477.
Tipsters do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward of up to $2,000 for the arrest and indictment of the suspects.
