A 34-year-old man was found shot to death early Saturday morning on a street in Atlanta.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as Mr. Leon Carr, of Atlanta. They said he died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
Around 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a call about a person shot in the area of 579 Boulevard, according to Atlanta police.
“Upon arrival officers located a deceased male who appeared to have been shot at least one time in the chest,” police spokesman Officer John Chafee said.
The medical examiner’s office pronounced Mr. Carr dead at the scene.
“The preliminary investigation indicates that this may be the result of an earlier argument that escalated to gunfire,” Officer Chafee said. It’s unclear what the argument was about and how many people were involved.
So far, no arrests have been made, but homicide investigators are following up on several leads, Officer Chafee said.
