The 27-year-old man’s roommates heard commotion coming from somewhere in the Norcross home. But several hours would pass before his body would be found.
Mr. Bryan Ritzert’s body was found early Friday morning, according to Gwinnett County police. They said he been shot during a home invasion that likely occurred the night before.
The investigation began around 5:15 a.m. when officers responded to a report of a burglary at 910 Falling Water Lane, police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said.
“It was quickly discovered that one of the residents of the home was deceased inside, apparently from a gunshot wound,” Cpl. Smith said.
Mr. Ritzert’s roommates told police they heard a commotion during the overnight hours, but did not discover the crime until later, Cpl. Smith said.
Investigators said there was forced entry into the home and suspect robbery was the motive for the murder. But they have not yet concluded their investigation into the Lawrenceville man's death, Cpl. Smith said.
