A 23-year-old man was shot to death and his passenger injured after the victim lost control of his vehicle and crashed in an apartment complex parking lot in northwest Atlanta.
Police on Friday were still trying to determine who shot the man and why. It was also unclear where the shooting happened and how.
On Thursday, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased as Mr. Elijah Edmondson, of Cartersville.
The unidentified passenger in his car was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition, according to Atlanta police.
At 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, someone called 911 regarding a shooting at 880 Rock St., police said. When officers arrived they found two victims in a vehicle in the apartment complex, police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said.
“The driver was deceased from a gunshot wound and the other was suffering from injuries sustained when the vehicle crashed into a curb,” Officer Jones said.
The motive is unknown at this time and officers are canvassing the area for information regarding the shooting, she said.
