For two months, a 23-year-old Jonesboro man allegedly raped and robbed women at gunpoint after luring them through the social media.
On Friday, police announced they able to arrest the man and put an end to his alleged crimes. Still, they did not say where the alleged crimes occurred or how the man was able to lure his victims.
Mr. Aamirr Philpot was arrested Thursday on numerous charges that include: two counts of rape, two counts of aggravated sodomy, two counts of false imprisonment and three counts of armed robbery, according Clayton County jail booking records.
He was also charged with kidnapping and violation of probation.
Investigators said Mr. Philpot was arrested after an extensive search.
"Philpot was wanted for sex crimes which he has been accused of committing for over a two-month span," Clayton County police spokesman’s Sgt. Hughes said. "Aamirr Philpot would lure his victims by using a social media website.
"Once the victims agreed to meet Philpot, he would rob and rape them at gunpoint.”
