Mammoth take on a Swarm and come out ahead

Colorado Mammoth brought their A game to the Pepsi Center Saturday night. The Mammoth also hosted "Lacrosse Out Cancer" night. Some of those in attendance were the survivors the Mammoth were playing for.

The Colorado Mammoth took on the Minnesota Swarm and just like the survivors in attendance that kicked cancer, the Mammoth wiped out the Swarm. The first quarter was a close one. But after that, it was all Mammoth in control.

With the teams work ethics - John Grant Jr. scored five goals and had six assists, Jamie Lincoln collecting his first hat trick, Captain Gavin Prout scoring five goals. Adding insult to injury is Dan Coates on defense along with help from Eric Martin and Joey Cupido as they helped keep the Swarm from outscoring the Mammoth. In front of the net is the strong goaltending of Matt Roik who helped secure the 15-9 win at the Pepsi Center.

The night did not come without some controversy though. With a little over 6 minutes left in the game and the Colorado Mammoth leading 13-8, the officials ruled that Matt Roik's glove was illegal. He was issued a game misconduct and had to leave the game. Newly acquired Dan Lewis stepped in and stopped all but one goal to help Colorado Mammoth improve to a record of 2 and 2.
