Mammoth Mountain 22 Half Pipe First to Open in the West

Mammoth Mountain's 22 foot half pipe was the first in the West to open due to the amazing conditions including more than 18 feet of snow Mother Nature delivered to the region since the beginning of the 2012/2013 season. With conditions still booming, it is looking pretty nice.

The 22 foot half pipe is a monster measuring 550 feet long and 62 feet wide from vertical-to-vertical. With an 18.5 degree pitch and 30,000 cubic yards of snow, this Olympic-size pipe is the place for the pros to practice.

It's time to get pipe crazy at Mammoth because besides this monster pipe, the 13 foot pipe in the Wonderland Park near Canyon Lodge are also now open. The 18 footer will be opening soon.
