Mamma Mia! returning to Las Vegas in Spring 2014

Get ready Abba fans. Mamma Mia! is returning to the Las Vegas Strip. In the spring of 2014, the popular musical will settle in for an open-ended run at the newly renovated Tropicana Theater in The New Tropicana.

"It's so exciting that Mamma Mia! is returning to fabulous Las Vegas," said creator/producer Judy Craymer.

Mamma Mia! was at Mandalay Bay from 2003 - 2009 and remains one of the most successful musicals on the Strip, performing more than 2,200 times to more than 2 million people.

Worldwide it has played in more than 400 countries. Toronto was the first city to produce the show after London. When it opened in China in 2011 it was the first major West End show to be translated into Mandarin.

“The 2008 film version of Mamma Mia! starring Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Christine Baranski, Colin Firth, Julie Walters and Stellan Skarsgard is the highest-grossing live-action movie musical of all time in terms of worldwide gross, taking in over $600 million,” states David Sheward at
