Today is a review on Malwarebytes anti-malware software you can find it at http://www.malwarebytes.org. This is one of the best programs I have found for virus, spyware and malware detection and removal. You ask “If I have a virus program why do I need Malwarebytes”. We discussed in previous articles that it is always best to have another program that is not running actively. This will ensure that you are virus free incase your anti-virus program misses a virus.
I like this program because of several factors. First the initial version is free for home use. Second it has a “perform quick scan” and “perform full scan mode”. Perform quick scan mode does not go deeply in depth when scanning. It checks active memory and common areas where viruses reside. It is nice to use due to the speed it finishes a scan. This is usually quicker than most antivirus programs. Perform full scan mode scans every file of a hard drive you select. It gives you the option of choosing which hard drive to scan. Third the menus of the program are clear and easy to understand. Finally it scans faster than most programs but still is effective and efficient.
While no software finds viruses, spyware and malware, 100% Malwarebytes gets extremely close to that. I have found that it finds virtually all viruses with only a few, over the years of computer repair I have done, not being found. There are other programs that are as good. The problem is a lot of them find false positives meaning they find a file they say is a virus when it actually is not a virus. This can cause issues later if the said files are deleted. I have yet to find that Malwarebytes finds a false positive. This gives you a sense that if Malwarebytes finds a file then I can delete it and not worry about the problems later.
The final conclusion is you won’t be sorry if you get this program. When you continue using it you will find you rely on it more often. This is a must get program for all computer users that want their system safe and secure.
