Brace yourself because a group of of malware authors have created an easy process for others to create malware to attack Macs, later to iPads. It is being called Weyland-Yutani BOT.
How does it work?
The Weyland-Yutani BOT supports web injects and form grabbing in Firefox; however both Chrome and Safari will soon follow. The webinjects templates are identical to the ones used in Zeus and Spyeye.
The malware creation software currently runs in Windows only.
Why now? With the growth in Mac sales and the iPad being the leader in the new post-PC era, malware creators feel it is time to finally target Apple products.
Will Mac users finally need antivirus software like Windows or will Apple try to take this into their own hands and protect its customers?
